I have seen all of Flag as well has Lake Hav., big outdoors men…just recently moved form southern california and looking for a thrilling destination.

I grew up Southern Cal. Have you ever been to Payson Arizona? May parents were talking about moving out their, so I went with them to check it out. It is a nice little city. It is about 5,000 some feet in elevation so it has pine trees and is pretty. It makes a nice base stop for Tonto Natural bridge and the Mogollon rim. The Natural bridge makes an awesome day trip, you hike down under the rock bridge where their is running water and little pools of water. You can’t swim or wade in the water but you can rock hop all around it. If you want to go further up in the mountains, you can go to the Mogollon rim, which is about 7000 feet in elevation. Their are several small mountain towns on the top of the rim with nice campgrounds, cabins, hiking, lakes and fishing. Hike to the edge of the rim for a pretty view. I believe Payson is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from Pheonix.

Sedona is always beautiful, as is the North rim of the Grand Canyon if you’re looking for different. The North rim is only open May-September or October though. There is tons within driving distance. You can hike Squaw Peak right in Phoenix, or you can go rafting/tubing on the Snake River. There’s really not much you CAN’T do in this area (I live in Phoenix). Once summer hits though, you’ll want to find a nice place up North to escape to as often as you can!

Well vacation spots would have to be Tucson. Stay at a great resort Cayno Ranch and explore southern Arizona! From Mt. Lemmon to the Chirichua mountains plenty of wide open space. Araviapa canyon you would enjoy very much! Many days hikes from 2,000 ft to 9,900. Kitt peak observatory, Organ pipe cactus national mounument, Saguaro national park, Ramsey canyon, Kartchner caverns, Sabino canyon, many more things to do outdoors!
Have fun where ever you go!
