GRCY 29 – Williams, AZ

First, I apologize for the poor quality, this video was not taken with the good camera, but I had to upload this because Grand Canyon Railway sadly quit steam operations.

29 pulls into the depot at Williams, I am sure glad I got even a halfway decent video of GCRY steam to remember it by!

If they were doing …
If they were doing it for money reasons than ,although I would still be sad about it, I could understand, however the hole “green” thing makes me really upset(to put it nicely).

It was a hard …
It was a hard decision on their part. First, ridership was down and steam was getting more and more expensive to run ALL THWE TIME. I don’t think GCRY has to run them every day during the summer, just mabe 2-3-4 days a week.

The new owners of …
The new owners of the railway think steam is too “environmentally unfriendly” and that steam would damage their image of being a “green company”. The steam engines won’t even be sold, they will be stuffed and mounted!
