I’m planning a road trip and I’d like to see the Grand Canyon… but it seems a bit ridiculous to have to pay $25 just to enter the National Park. I’m a poor college student, here. :p If I have to go into the park to see it I’m sure I will, I just wondered if there was any way of seeing it without actually entering the park. (I’m planning on getting there on 64 from Williams, AZ and going across to Desert View and Cameron and ending up back down on 40)

I think you can buy a National Park pass…for one flat rate it will get you in every national park in the nation. Check the national parks website…but unless you are a disabled veteran then no. Budget the $25….

Enjoy the trip. It is beautiful, and worth it. The day we went and paid our $25 it was cloudy and foggy and we could not see in to the canyon. STILL, worth the trip.

If you are driving that far to see it, the $25.00 is not a lot of money extra. I did the same thing last year and for me daughter and myself. We were there less than an hour but it was worth the $25.00.

Any other way would require hiking in and this would take several hours.

unless you hitch hike, hop on somebody’s car, ask return vehicle for ticket, you have to pay $25 per vehicle for 1 week visit, bring enough water and gas in your car, it is very expensive inside, the weather is very hot there.
