How can a poor family get the money for there mom to have a heart&lung transtplant ? she is 34 years young.?

My wife tina lamson needs a heart and lung transtplant.If we had the money she could get on the list today,but we don't so she still is not on a list.Life is not fair ,I wish I was born with a siver spoon in my mouth.I love my wife! So if anyone can come up with anything I mean anything PLAESE let me know! THANK'S FOR YOUR TIME! Mike Lamson Kingman/AZ

Thats an awful situation to be in.

Do you have a local newspaper that you could contact & ask them to make an appeal for you?

You could get your children's school to come up with some fund raising events.

That's some ideas for raising money, but what you also need to do is raise the awairness for donor cards. What's the point of being on a list when there are no donors to get the lungs & heart from?

Oh Please, you expect people to help you. For all we know you are some sleazy loser wanting to get rich off of a fake tragedy. If your wife really is sick and you are poor you can go to a charity hospital and you can get on the list. Tweak your scam before you try it again. The fact that you don't know that just means one of two things, either you don't care enough to exhaust all resources or you are lying, either way, quit begging us for help.

sorry friend. As we all know. If you don't have money you will likely die waiting for life saving transpants. Also you love your wife and want to do all that you can for her, but prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

P.S. You may check into over the border (i mean if your wife is already terminal, what can it hurt?)

State hospitals are free. Get her on SSI and medicaid then it's all free. Good luck, Kitty

P.S. May have to divorce her to get her on it, but it's worth it!!! Been there, trust me!

It is a horrible ethical scandal that around 25% of donated organs come from poor and uninsured people who would not have the financial resources to receive such an organ! This is much worse than paying donors, which we forbid on ethical grounds.

All transplants should be covered by Medicare's Catastrophic Illness program, but most are not. Just a simple heart transplant costs about $300,000. Heart-lung would be even more expensive since the continuing care is much more difficult.

The number of people actually receiving heart transplants in the US is so small that having Medicare cover the cost would not change anybody's costs/benefits by more than a few cents per year. This is one of those "natural disasters" that we should self-insure with the pool being the entire population.

I have worked in hospitals for years. My late husband had a kidney transplant. I know that the Doctors turn this sort of thing over to people that will help in a case like this. There are organizations that will help. The social workers in the hospitals are there for this very sort of thing, so the help is there, but going on line is not the best thing for you to do to look for emergency help! I do wish your wife the best.

That is so sad but if I was you I would ask every business an anywhere I could set out a donation fund for her and with prayer an faith things can change in one day ,possibility there would be someone that has mega bucks that will come her way .Even put ads in newspaper,good luck an I will say a prayer for you both !!
