Sierra Resource Group Announces Initial Assay Results of Tailings Impoundment Drill Program at Its Chloride Copper Mine Property.

Kingman, AZ (PRWEB) October 24, 2011

Sierra Resource Group, Inc. contracted ALS Minerals of Reno Nevada to complete the testing of its Tailings Drill program. Drill and Assay results from ALS ICP-33 Element test use the ME-CEP61a Method and results showed:

Copper grade ranged from a minimum of 0.16% Cu ppm to a maximum of 0.43% Cu ppm with the average being 0.36% Cu ppm.
    Magnesium averaged 0.63% Mg %.
    Zinc averaged 0.32% Zn ppm.
Eight (8) gridded vertical holes were drilled using an auger drill rig. Samples were then taken at intervals of ten (10) feet and were continue to the tailings/surface contact. There was a total of 28 samples. Samples were placed in polyethylene bags secured with “zip ties” for transport. All tailings samples were analyzed by the ISO 9001-accredited ALS Minerals Laboratory in Reno, Nevada. Samples were tested for bulk specific gravity, assayed for 33 element ICP and Cu oxide/cyanide leach ability.

The objectives of this drill program were designed to collect material in order to confirm the grade of copper mineralization that was previously reported by SGV Resources Inc. The copper distribution appears to be consistent over all the samples collected from the tailings impoundment.

The tailings are the waste product from the previous operation of the Emerald Isle Mine from 1943 to 1973 when copper recovery was much lower than today’s recovery rates. This low recovery indicates that a substantial amount of copper-bearing material was sent to the tailings impoundment. The objective of this analysis was to determine whether the tailings could be economically mined and processed to recover the contained copper in them.

About the company:

Sierra Resource Group Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SIRG) is a U.S based exploration and mining company committed to the exploration, discovery and development of gold, silver, copper and other mineral resources. Sierra’s primary asset is 80% ownership of the Chloride Copper Mine located near Kingman Arizona (the “Mine”). The company is looking to expand throughout the Americas in the near future. The technical report, NI43-101, by Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates March 10, 2006, estimates the Chloride Copper Mine contains 27,000,000 pounds of copper. The NI 43-101 technical report is widely recognized as the benchmark standard for resource and reserve estimates, although SEC regulations for the disclosure of reserve estimates are governed by Industry Guide 7. Please refer to the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K and Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q, filed with the SEC, regarding our reserve estimates.

The Mine is a past producer, has permitting (some updating required), an already disturbed area and is not a greenfield property.

The Mine is fully developed for operation with $ 2.6 million expended by the previous owner/operators on processing facilities and infrastructure which hosts a fully developed mine, leach pads, solvent extraction plant and electro-winning SX/EW plant (which requires some retooling) as well as required infrastructure to conduct the full operation.

Sierra plans to use open pit mining and plans to reopen the existing SX/EW plant on site with the maximum capability of producing up to 7,000,000 pounds of Copper Cathode per year. The existing SX/EW Plant On-Site is environmentally friendly, cost effective and a quick production process according to an article published by the Copper Development Association in August 2001.

The Chloride Copper Mine deposit is hosted by Late Tertiary conglomerates and, to a lesser extent, by Quaternary alluvium and Cretaceous granitic rocks. Copper mineralization at Chloride Copper Mine is in the form of mineralized lenses contained within a paleochannel approximately a few thousand feet long and up to 750 feet wide. The source of copper at Chloride Copper Mine is interpreted to be the low grade porphyry-type copper mineralization at Alum Wash, about 3.5 miles northeast of the Chloride Copper Mine deposit. The mineralization is characterized by dark blue to black rock similar to the Exotica deposit, a satellite of the huge Chuquicamata copper deposit in Chile.

Davis Salvage Takes Delivery of Region’s First Caterpillar® CT660 Truck

Mesa, AZ (PRWEB) October 30, 2011

Davis Salvage Company, a Phoenix scrap metal recycling and steel and ornamental iron distribution operation, became the first business in the western United States to take delivery of a Caterpillar® CT660 vocational truck on October 20. The CT660 was delivered by Chris Zaharis, Executive Vice President of Caterpillar dealer Empire Southwest, David Jin representing Caterpillar’s on-highway truck engines division, and representatives of Empire Truck & Trailer, which sells and supports the new truck.

The CT660 debuted last spring, and Davis Salvage manager Dave Barker was among the first in the U.S.to order one for his operation. Developed and manufactured by legendary heavy equipment and engine manufacturer Caterpillar, the CT660 is designed for day cab vocational applications such as construction and dump trucks, fuel haulers and regional transportation. Davis Salvage’s CT660, which features the Cat chassis and a Spartan roll-off body, will be used primarily to haul bulk loads of iron and other metals and for scrap metal dumpster removals.

Davis Salvage owners Sara, AJ and Shane Barker were joined by members of their staff and original owner Sam “Toddy” Tamaroff to receive the CT660’s keys. AJ Barker said that the Caterpillar reputation for durability and reliability factored into his decision to add the truck to his fleet. So did a new Cat transmission which eliminates the need for clutch replacements or adjustments, provides better fuel economy and allows drivers to keep both hands on the wheel at all times.

“The CT660 is a revolutionary product, and we are extremely excited about being among the first dealers in North America to deliver one to a client,” said ET&T Sales Manager Mike Shannon. “I expect to see a lot of them on the road in the future.”

YOU CAN REALLY GET A-HEAD ON ROUTE 66, OR AT LEAST GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN WITH ONE.

(PRWEB) September 22, 2004

Say “yes” to Historical route 66 in Kingman which represents the open road, the freedom, and the possibility for The American Dream and let your imagination soar!

Artist & former New Jersey resident Gregg Arnold has given people another reason to stop and just enjoy the views from the top of Antares Road, where you can watch the dust devils spiral up to the sky and glide over the untainted valley and up to the towering and majestic Music mountains and the Grand Wash Cliffs.

When asked why sculpt an Easter Island Icon on the corner of his property Arnold simply stated “Somebody had to. And besides, isn’t that what Route 66 is all about? Why not give people an unexpected surprise when they round the corner? I lived my whole life on the East Coast where everyone is piled up on top of each other and when I realized how much space is out here I knew I had to do something big and fun.” So fun in fact, that Trotter R.V. Sales of Kingman recently shot a commercial featuring Headicus.

The Kingman/ Hackberry section of 66 has recently seen quite a few changes and renovations. Everywhere you look there is new housing, new projects, and the re-vamping of old structures that have all breathed fresh life into the deserving Mother Road.

As you go east from the Kingman airport and industrial center you get an eyeful of open spaces, passing cattle and horses, and quite commonly you see trains that are literally miles long and stacked 2 high.

Trains on the right and mountain ranges on the left wind the traveler around to a bend in the road that signals their arriving at Headicus’s home, a fantastic A-frame building that was previously a restaurant and fuel stop in 66′s hey-day and is currently under renovation, complete with original sign, where Arnold says that people are welcome to stop and take their picture with his giant green head.

Arizona Medical Marijuana Doctors Coming to Kingman, AZ

www.arizonammc.com

Kingman, AZ (PRWEB) June 14, 2011

Arizona Medical Marijuana Certifications (Arizona MMC), the state’s premier AZ Medical Marijuana center, will be seeing patients in Kingman, AZ June 17-18 at the Holiday Inn Express.

Hours for the evaluations are Friday from 3pm to 8pm and Saturday from 8am to 8pm in the meeting room. The address for the Holiday Inn Express is 3031 E Andy Devine Ave, Kingman, AZ 86401.

The Kingman visit will serve qualified patients in Kingman, Lake Havasu City, and Bullhead City. As a requirement in Arizona, patients need to have an in-person examination from a licensed doctor and a review of the past 12 months of medical records for the qualifying condition.

With the passing of Prop 203, medical marijuana is now legal in Arizona for qualified patients with debilitating medical conditions. Patients with Cancer, Severe Nausea and Vomiting, Chronic Pain, Severe Muscle Spasms, Glaucoma, Hepatitis, HIV or AIDS, Crohn’s Disease, MS or ALS, Cachexia or Wasting Syndrome, or Alzheimer’s Agitation may qualify for an Arizona Medical Marijuana Card.

Most medical marijuana in AZ evaluation centers do not provide the services that Arizona MMC does for its patients. These include the following:

    Free Passport Identification Photos
    Free Document Scanning
Free Assistance with the Online AZ Medical Marijuana Card application process
Free E-Book titled Medical Marijuana – The People Have Spoken
Obtaining Medical Records for patients for… Free.

Arizona MMC is the only center to offer a comprehensive E-Book, which is over 40 pages and contains chapters on The Basics of Cannabis, Arizona’s Path to Legalizing Medical Marijuana, the Basics of Obtaining an AZ Medical Marijuana Card, and the latest medical information on how marijuana benefits debilitating conditions.

Arizona MMC has instituted a discounted pricing structure for patients who partially pre-pay for their visit. Normally the on-site price is $ 199, however, if patients pre-pay $ 75, the total visit price is discounted 25% to $ 149.

Appointments are being scheduled and time slots are filling up fast. There will also be a limited number of walk-in appointments allowed as well. Signing up early will also allow the Center time to obtain, for Free, patients’ medical records.

For patients in the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas, the regular Arizona MMC office is located in central Phoenix area, conveniently located off of the Highway 51 at Bethany Home Road.

For an appointment, patients may either call Toll Free (855) 294-3227 or visit the website at http://www.arizonammc.com.

The Las Vegas Grand Canyon South Rim bus is easily the most economical way to get to the national park. It’s comfortable, too, especially if you travel aboard one of today’s luxury motor coaches. Before you climb aboard and settle into your plush seat, here are seven things you need to think about before you hit the road:

1. The South Rim is 270 miles away from Vegas and takes 5.5 hours to reach by bus. Tours include up to three hours at the rim. Travelers return to their Strip hotel around 9 p.m. Conservatively, budget 15 hours for this trip.

2. Review your itinerary and see if it includes a stop at the second-tallest bridge in the U.S. The new Mike O’Callaghan – Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge opened in October 2010 and it’s a sight to behold. Even better is walking across it. The excitement comes from being suspended 900 feet above the Colorado River. And the view of Hoover Dam is incredible.

3. See if lunch is included. This trip is a long one and you will get hungry. Breakfast will get you as far as Kingman, AZ (make sure to load up on snacks here). The typical box lunch is OK for lunch. I suggest satisfying your hunger at the restaurant in the Bright Angel Lodge, where the servings are huge and delicious.

4. Dress for the weather. During summer, bring a hat, sunscreen, lots of water, and loose clothing like long-sleeved shirts and pants. Bring a windbreaker if you have one. South Rim winter’s are much colder than what you’ll experience in Vegas. I recommend you dress in layers for comfort and warmth. Bring a hat and/or beanie, scarf, gloves, and a medium weight jacket. Put on a pair of sturdy shoes or boots. A pair of YakTrakz anti-slip walker-crampons are a great way to deal with icy conditions.

5. Make sure to your issue of “The Guide.” The Park Service puts out this wonderfully informative publication. Updated quarterly, the newspaper has information about Park history, museums, gift shops, restaurants, the best view points, and a map of the free shuttle bus system. In my opinion, it’s the key that unlocks all the Park’s fabulous features.

6. Not all lookouts are created equal. Time is limited and you want to make sure you see the most-famous viewing points. My suggestions include Mather Point, Yavapai Observation Station, Hermit’s Rest, and Yaki Point. Do sunrise at Mather and Sunset at Hopi Point. The view from the Rim Trail behind Bright Angel Lodge is also good (below you’ll see Indian Gardens and a tiny bit of Phantom Ranch).

7. Remember: What goes down must come up. South Rim trails are world-class. But they are steep. I suggest taking a leisurely 30-minute stroll down and then turning back. Over the summer, bring lots of water and a salty snack like trail mix during the summer. Take lots of breaks going up. There’s no rush. Stand to the side to let mule trains pass.

South Rim bus tours from Las Vegas are a hit with Las Vegas travelers. And for good reason. It’s cheap, includes lunch and all park entrance fees, and its done on a state-of-the-art luxury bus. It’s also a sightseeing paradise. On the way, you’ll see such western icons as Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, Kaibab Plateau, and the Colorado River. If you are looking for an affordable, fun way to do the South Rim, this bus trip is absolutely the way to go.

Posted by: admin   in Kingman Az

Kingman, AZ (PRWEB) August 12, 2010

Even though the median sales price of homes for sale in Kingman, Arizona has decreased to about 10.5% as compared to a year ago, the market outlook remains positive. Housing inventory saw a big increase in the past year, resulting in a buyer’s market. “There are fantastic deals for buyers in almost every neighborhood,” says Realtor Amy Kleefisch of the Kleefisch Real Estate Team. “Interest rates remain low, which makes second home purchases or investment property payments quite affordable,” Kleefisch adds.

A recent article in Forbes.com featured housing discounts reaching a new low, and the Arizona real estate market is no exception. One third of Forbes’ listings come from Arizona, making it a haven of sorts for bargain hunters. “Low interest rates, low prices, and lots of choices makes it a great time to buy Kingman, AZ homes for sale or consider Kingman, AZ foreclosures as potential investments,” states Kleefisch.

Cities that specialize in industries or offer many jobs can help ease the recession, according to Forbes.com. Washington DC, Boston, Los Angeles and lots more have gradually emerged from the downturn and have projected growth in the next several years. Kingman looks forward to joining that list, as new businesses open on a regular basis. “It’s a step in the right direction,” says Kleefisch. “We have the infrastructure in place, which is a key building block to growth. It might take some time, but we hope we are currently seeing the indicators that we are slowly turning around, with a flurry of activity and contracts coming in during the past couple of weeks,” she adds.

With close proximity to urban areas like Flagstaff, Laughlin, and Las Vegas, as well as natural attractions like Lake Mohave, Lake Mead, Lake Havasu, all the way to the Grand Canyon West, Kingman is a desert community poised for major growth. Its almost perfect climate combined with scenic mountain views and clean air has made homebuyers of all types like families and retirees discover its charm.
