My fiance and I want to have our engagement photos done this fall in Flagstaff, AZ. It’s a small town, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or recommendations. Thanks!

I live in Flagstaff, and by coincidence have a friend who’d be perfect for that. She’s a photographer who’s done weddings, has a degree in graphic design, and is just a great person. I’m not positive what her schedule will be like in the fall, but you can email me through my account here, and I’ll be happy to give you her info.

I’m planning a road trip and I’d like to see the Grand Canyon… but it seems a bit ridiculous to have to pay $25 just to enter the National Park. I’m a poor college student, here. :p If I have to go into the park to see it I’m sure I will, I just wondered if there was any way of seeing it without actually entering the park. (I’m planning on getting there on 64 from Williams, AZ and going across to Desert View and Cameron and ending up back down on 40)

I think you can buy a National Park pass…for one flat rate it will get you in every national park in the nation. Check the national parks website…but unless you are a disabled veteran then no. Budget the $25….

Enjoy the trip. It is beautiful, and worth it. The day we went and paid our $25 it was cloudy and foggy and we could not see in to the canyon. STILL, worth the trip.

I live in Golden Valley, AZ. Right now according to The Weather Channel.com it is 103 here. Where my parents are at, 30 minutes away, it is like 114 right now. They live in Ft. Mohave AZ. Anyways, my main air conditioner seems to be working very hard, but is unable to keep up with the heat. I turn it to high, with the thermostat at high as well and it still takes the compressor like 20 minutes to kick in. it sucks, so I got a new window mount A/C unit. This seems to alleviate some of the pressure that the roof mount is having, but it is still quite warm in my house. So anyways, now with 2 A/C units, my electric bill is going to go through the roof, but I don’t know what else to do. I have to keep my baby cool you know?

My question is mainly what you mommies are doing to keep your little ones cool, but also, what the heck did they do back in the day to keep their babies cool? Did the climate change and these days it is hotter, or are we just accustomed to A/C these days, and kind of spoiled? What do you ladies think?

right now its 105 and although my kids are 4 and 7 …i am also 7 months pregnant. We are in vegas were its hot constantly all summer long so this si just the start. It sucks when its hot cause you are stuck inside all day almost and then the kids get cranky and bored..ahhhh.
My advice for a baby is..fill the bath with couple inches o water let her splash..spray bottle misters work awesome!!!!..light clothing for you and baby..popsicles..frozen fruit for the baby etc..

Hi – I am driving from Amarill to Taos New Mexico next week and would like to drive on the historical Route 66. Can anyone give me good directions from Amarillo/ Thanks.

There you go. Free of charge ;-)

Also heading down Rt 15…looking for a nice halfway stop over for site seeing and overnight.

I've driven that route a few times….

Can't think of anything noteworthy.
You can back track up the 15 to see March AFB.
You'll get to see the San Bernadino mountains which are covered in snow right now and worth a roadside picture.
If you are big into wine, you can do some wine tasting outside of Escondido.
You'll go by North County Fair which is a very nice mall.

That's about it.

The hubby and I are taking a short 3 day vacation to a destination close to home but that we've never been to before. We want to go to casino's, swim in nice pools, shop, eat and relax. Which do you reccommend and why? and where do we have to visit if we go to your choice destination?
Thanks everyone. and they have beaches? wow.

Palm Springs, good views, and good food :)
I've been to both but I found that I liked Palm Springs better Laughlin is a little town with nothing to do really. Both my husband and my Kids loved Palm Springs.

I'm hungry
