My friends and I wanna take a trip to laughlin but we are only 18 and dont know if we could reserve a hotel, since you must be 21 to gamble there. And if it is 21, are all the hotels that way, or just some or what?

You have to be 18 at the hotel i work at here in Ca. Nevada it may be different but i don't think it is. Cause i know you can stay at a hotel without being able to go gamble. Just go down the list of hotels and give them each a call. Good Luck!

Would you recommend Flagstaff AZ as a good place to raise a family? Are there lots of activities in the area? What are the schools like?

Now an adult's perspective -
Flagstaff is a good place to raise a family. The Snow Bowl is near there with lots of winter sports to offer. The Grand Canyon is about 1 hour away and Sedona less than one hour (your kids would love Slide Rock Park). http://www.10best.com/Flagstaff,AZ/Attractions_&_Activities/
There is a lot to be said about growing up in a small town vs. a city. I have a friend that lives there and is happy with the schools.
NAU is located there when they're ready for college.

I heard there was one near Lake Havasu, AZ or Bakersfield, CA but I can't find any info on either one.

The water slide water park on the 15 hwy, which is what the girl on top is talking about, was closed down a while ago. It is really out in the middle of no where. IF you watch rob and big they skate there one day on the way to vegas

I just booked a rental home for month in AZ and got a great deal. We always go in the summer b/c it is more affordable and we enjoy the sun and heat because it is so dry. Anyway, I've used this website a lot and always have success. www.vrbo.com And ask the owner what best price they will give you too!

Any tips from anyone who has done it? Where would i find people who have?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But Route 66 was decommissioned in 1985. Portions of it still exist. But big chunks of it have been built over with interstate highway.

What do you think of Flagstaff (Az) ?

Posted by: admin   in Kingman Communities

I'm gonna live here for 1 year so I have some questions.
What about the weather ? Is it that cold ?
What about the night life ? There are some things to do ?
Sorry for my bad english but I'm a french student.
Thanks

Well I live in Flagstaff, so let me give you the lowdown.

As for the weather, the main people who complain about it are the those who come up here from Phoenix ("oh my god, its 48 degrees and sunny– how horrible!"). Its only really bad if you have to walk a long distance in winter at night, or maybe during early morning walks to class (it actually does get quite cold at night).

As for the night life, well if you're coming from Paris or something it may leave something to be desired, but for its size there are quite a few options really (on the weekend anyway), especially if you're young (and not an alchoholic).

But really the best thing about Flagstaff is the nature. Its within a reasonable drive of about 9 million ridiculously beautiful places. And no not just the grand canyon, though thankfully thats all a lot of people seem to know about. But I guess it depends on whether you really appreciate nature. Some people prefer Las Vegas (which incidentally if you're missing home- you can go to the totally fake version of France at that Paris casino in Las Vegas, lol).

Anyway all that said, I would recommend buying a car if you can (and I guess selling it after the 1 year). It might make things a lot better if you can. Its more convenient, you won't have to walk much during those cold winter nights and, *especially*, you can drive to all of those beautiful places.

Well thats all. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions.

Grand Canyon Hotel Recommendations?

Posted by: admin   in Kingman Communities

Will be traveling to the GC in the Spring and would like recommendations on where to stay. I was thinking of staying in Williams, AZ and taking the Grand Canyon Train into the canyon. TIA.

I have not taken that trip into the canyon, but know people who
have and they have raved about it.

It is in my plans this coming year.

Have fun.

What to do along Route 66 from Texas to Missouri?

Posted by: admin   in Route 66

I plan on driving from El Paso, Texas to Joplin, Missouri next week and thought me and my children would take route 66 as much as possible. I thought they would enjoy the roadside oddities- if there are any left. Any suggestions on how to plan this trip and what websites I could find some info?

what happened to the good ol days where we just pack up the car and driiive… no? We did that earlier this year… picked a destination and drove. No planning, have no clue what towns we statyed over night. But it was fun. Whatever you guys do, have a blast!!

I live in Lake Havasu City, AZ and I am wanting to go to Las Vegas, NV for my 20th birthday next month and I am trying to find things to do… Anyone know of any great websites or know of anything I can do?

There are many things you can do in Las Vegas. Try this website: http://www.findlasvegaseventsbuytickets.com/.

You'll find just about every Las Vegas venue and can browse the schedule of events, buy tickets, find closest Las Vegas hotels, view maps and seating charts, etc.

In particular, here a couple Las Vegas attractions to try:
